Introducing Ocular Coherence Tomography

For those of you that have had an eye test with one of our lovely opticians in Wimbledon Village, you will know that here at Ace Eyewear we strive to offer the most thorough & in-depth eye tests and that is why we are pleased to announce that we have recently invested in a 3D scanning system called an OCT.

An OCT scanner utilizes light waves to allow us to view the many layers of our eye, while it also takes a digital photograph of the surface layer of the eye which allows our optician to cross check any areas that may be of concern. From these scans, we can more confidently diagnose, manage or refer you to an ophthalmologist for further treatment.

Our resident optometrist, Rohina has over five years’ experience in analysing OCT scans and will explain the results of each scan with you on the monitor as part of your eye test and for the majority of patients, she can assure you that the deeper layers of your eyes are lovely and healthy.
