Best glasses for a round face shape

In this feature we will cover the best frame styles for your face shape, we will be covering the three most common face shapes round, rectangular and oval for both optical (everyday) frames and sunglasses.  So without further or do…

For the ladies

Anne et Valentin – Brera

Brera forms the core of Anne et Valentin’s Metropolitan which takes inspiration from Metropolitan cities and districts from Milan, Barcelona, Brooklyn and Botafogo.

The Brera is a large, flattering, angular ladies’ frame with a chunky acetate front, particularly across the brow line. It is a modern evolution of the traditional cat-eye style.

Be brave, be bold and turn heads with this frame.

Anne et Valentin – Barceloneta

Again, this model forms part of the Metropolitan concept which has the distinct new-wave spirit of the 80s. Our favourite colour has to be the eye-catching red which lets the light pass through the acetate majestically. Other great colours include a deep navy, khaki green, and grey mottle pictured.

It’s hard not to smile when trying on a Barceloneta thanks to it’s fun uplifting style.

Ahlem – Pont Des Arts

A true Ahlem classic, the Pont Des Arts was first introduced to the collection in 2016 and has evolved over the years as Ahlem transitioned to using 8mm thick acetate and introducing new colour tones including this year’s new additions Old Fashioned Rose and Dark Green.

Ahlem describes the Pont Des Arts as a frame that uses sophisticated lines and angles to evolve vintage energy into a frame that is distinctly current.

Ahlem – Saint Dominique

Another from Parisian designer Ahlem and handmade over three specialist factories in Oyonnax, France. A unisex frame at heart the Saint Dominique combines the raw-cut acetate finish which is used sparingly across the collection with a bevelled front which adds a certain depth to the frame.

In-stock in Dark Turtle, Indigolight and Smokelight colours.

Lunor – A11 452

Handmade in Lunor’s own factory in the black forest from the highest quality cotton acetate and titanium hinges, the A11 452 is a slim oversized, 80’s inspired square shape with soft rounded edges. Pictured above in Black Havana but also available in Matte Vintage Grey for a soft neutral look or vintage blue for a subtle pop of colour. The A11 452 was also featured in our Core Lunor Frames blog a few months ago.

Kuboraum – Maske K5

The K5 mask is one of our go-to frames for ladies or gents who want a signature bold, dark acetate style. This frame features a multi-layered front and is available in a stunning range of colours and finishes from burnt matte black to mint and everything in between.

For the Gents

Lunor – A6 250

The A6 collection from Lunor features their signature thick paddle temple, which thanks to it’s skull drip fitting is extremely, light and comfortable.

The 250 features a keyhole bridge and flat top which helps add structure to the face. Learn more about Lunor, it’s history and its manufacturing here.

Lunor A5 605

Another timeless classic from German eyewear designer Lunor who last year celebrated their thirtieth birthday. The A5 collection has a thinner finish & feel than the A6 collection and therefore suits wearers with smaller features. Another frame that was featured in our latest blog on Lunor.

Thierry Lasry – Dystopy

The Dystopy is really a go-to multipurpose frame shape suitable for almost all face shapes. It is a loud, statement, rectangular piece manufactured from Italian acetate.

Thierry Lasry – Frenety

Similar in shape to the Dystopy but feels both much lighter in weight and looks thanks to its matte black titanium temples. A great balance if you often find chunky acetate frames to over powering for your skin tone or features.

Ahlem – Bellechase

The Bellechase is a brand new model from Ahlem 2022 Autumn release. It takes a classic concept and adds unexpected angles to elevate this old design. Ahlem describes the wearer of this frame a wearer of a precisely tailored suit to be found somewhere on a terrace somewhere in the 6th arrondissement.

Ahlem Rue Bonnet

The Rue Bonnet features a similar silhouette to the Lunor A6 250, a classic with a slight punch to it thanks to Ahlem signature use of 8mm thick Mazzuchelli acetate. Features a Bauhaus inspired metal temple core.

You Mawo – Avon

From You Mawo’s Bold collection is the Avon, like all of You Mawo’s frames it is 3D printed from polyamide which is fantastically light and durable. The matte finish helps soften the otherwise dark black colour.
